Flanders Field Poppies
Flanders field poppies (Papaver rhoeas) have brilliant red, two-inch flowers, with satiny, shimmering petals. These highly regarded poppies are most frequently seen in natural masses and fields throughout Europe - immortalized in poetry and impressionist paintings. Large scale plantings are a knockout!
These poppies prefer full sun to partial shade and grow two to five feet tall in all regions of the United States. Flanders field poppies reseed readily; successive plantings, three weeks apart, will ensure continuous warm-season bloom. Four-ounce package covers a maximum 2700 square feet.
Note: Large scale planting rate - 2 pounds per acre (Approximately 3,200,000 seeds per pound)
